The Oculus Go was launched in 2018, so it isn't an old VR headset by any means.
It was introduced as the first generation standalone headset by Facebook Technologies.
As it's a standalone set, it means you don't need to be connected to a computer. So that gives you a lot of freedom. But as with every VR headset of this kind, it has limited power.
With a headset like the Valve Index you are connected to a computer through a wire and use the computer's processing power.
As the VR porn industry moves at high speed it's always a bit tricky when it comes to older generations VR headsets. While most of them still work fine, you'll start to notice they're getting older when watching HD VR porn.

The extremely high resolutions means the file sizes will be very big and the VR video itself will demand a lot from your headset! And this is where the Oculus Go is showing it's age
And you also have to keep in mind that a Oculus Go only has 32 or 64 gigs of hard drive space. If you start watching quality HD VR porn a lot then 32 gigs is pointless and you will need at least the 64 gigs version.
While the Oculus Go received quite some praise when it was launched, it also got some criticism. The already small storage amount is not expandable.
And battery-wise it isn't too great either. With only about 2,5 hours battery life when watching a good VR porn movie you'll be charging your Oculus Go a lot! And it charges slow!
But things like the design, the way it fits on your head and the headphones are generally regarded as good.
Especially the sound got good reviews! And I have to agree. It sounds good! It feels really immersive and surround.

The Go comes with a simple hand controller. It does the job but it's certainly not spectacular.
You could upgrade to better controllers but then I'd recommend buying a more modern headset altogether.
It's also important to know that compared to many other headsets the Go lacks cameras. So basically it doesn't scan your surroundings.
This means your VR experience is quite static. You won't be moving around and grabbing things.
So for for playing games this might not be the right set for you. For watching VR porn however this is no problem.
The Oculus Go is decent. And because it was already really cheap at launch they are even cheaper on the 2nd hand markets now.
Would I recommend buying one?
Not really, as nowadays there are quite a few cheap options that have better specs than the Go.
However, if you manage to get one real cheap then there is nothing wrong with it.
You will still be able to watch most HD VR porn movies out there. And it will work great with sites like VR Bangers!
Sites like VR Bangers offer a lot of different download options. So while they offer very high resolution 8K videos, you are not forced to download those. You will be able to download lower resolution files which will work perfectly fine on your Oculus Go.
