Let's take a look at one of the earliest virtual reality headsets and how good it is for watching VR porn. And of course what other qualities it has.
The Oculus Rift started around 2013 with a developer kit. This was the result of a very successful Kick starter campaign. This was also the first time yours truly got to experience the first generation VR technology.

I guess by now you realize that the Oculus Quest VR headset is getting a bit dated. This is good and bad.
It's good because you can get them quite cheap on the 2nd hand markets if you get lucky. But needless to say the bad part the technology is aging and newer VR headsets might be a wiser choice.
Let's take a look at the price and specs.
The first generation Oculus Rift is not for sale anymore as far as I know. Their follow up the Oculus Rift S is though. But more about that later.
I've seen the Oculus Rift VR headset on the 2nd hand markets for anywhere between 200 and 400 dollars. Now paying 400 for it certainly is too much. I think with some patience you should be able to get one for about 250 dollars. And for that price you will be the owner of a very decent VR headset when it comes to watching VR porn! Update one year later: Obviously these prices have changed and this info is outdated by now.
First of all make sure you understand that the Oculus Rift is wired and that you need a computer. If this is not at all what you're looking for then take a look at their stand-alone follow up the Oculus Quest.
The nice quality screen is dual 1080 x 1200 resolution. It has a 110 degrees FOV (Field of view) which is pretty standard for that generation VR headsets. It has very good seated movement tracking and 2 nice hand controllers. It works at 90 frames per second. Which is also a standard.
The screen is LCD and it's good. The colors are nice and it's quite sharp. Again, this VR headset is getting older so newer sets will be sharper, brighter, etc. But also more expensive.
Of course newer virtual reality headsets like the Pimax 5k with it's ridiculously high resolution will be better but also 3 or 4 times the price. Interested in the Pimax 5k? Click here!
Just like the VR headsets in this price range, make sure you have a decent computer and graphics card. These things need some power in order to play those high quality VR porn movies! At a minimum you're looking at an I5 processor and 970 GTX graphics card. But I'd really recommend something more modern. That really is the bare minimum and you will have problems with high resolution VR movies and high quality games.
As with all virtual reality headsets. The better the headset the more power your computer needs.

To make things even more difficult in the already difficult world of VR headsets and VR porn: Not too long the follow up of the Oculus Rift, the Oculus Rift S was launched.
And you guessed it, many things are improved.
Which is good. What this means for you is that it's very easy to find the earlier generation Oculus Rift headset on the second hand markets. And really cheap, as i mentioned earlier in this piece.
At the same time, the new Oculus Rift S is new quite cheap as well. Currently 399 dollars at the official Oculus site.
And if you ask me then I'm gonna say that 400 dollars is not bad if you consider the quality hardware you will get in return. It will take your VR porn viewing pleasure to a very high level!

While the original Oculus Rift had two 1,080 x 1,200 pixel displays inside, one for each eye. The Rift S only has a single display with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440. So a bit more than the original version.
You'll notice that everything simply is clearer and sharper. Text is easier to read and you VR porn has even more details!
The screen door effect is lowered. So it feels less like you're looking through a screen door and see the individual pixels like the original Oculus Rift.
It's easier to set up. It has no external light house controllers which you place on the opposite side of the rooms. And yes, tracking is still there. You can move around in your room!
What i personally really love is that it has an onboard camera that lets you see where you are. Just like the HTC Vive has for example. So you can avoid bumping into things. Which happens way too often when you're me.
The headset is light. And it sits even better on your head than the original Oculus Rift.
The controllers are the same touch controllers you get with the previous Rift.
I'm going to sum up the pros and cons for both sets as this review is more about the general info and feel about the sets and not really a deep dive.
Just like the other headsets which connect to your computer, watching your VR porn movies on the Oculus Rift is really simple.
The easiest option to stream movies on your Oculus set is to download Firefox. Since 2017 they support watching VR content on the Oculus.
Visit the site where you want to watch the VR content (for example VRbangers).
Hit play on the video, hit the VR button on the page. This can be in a different location or have a different button depending on the site. Usually you'll see a VR headset icon.
Put on your headset and enjoy the show.

Next install one of the free VR video players. For the Oculus Rift you could use the Skybox VR Video Player app.
Put on your Oculus Rift and open the app. Go to the directory on your computer where put your movie. Click play.
There are more VR headsets and the Oculus Rift is just one of them. In the end it depends on your budget and what you're looking for.
If you want to watch high quality VR porn and love to play games then Oculus Rift is a great choice.
And as mentioned above, you're gonna have to choose between the older version and the new one. The older version is good and can be found 2nd hand really cheap. The newer version is a bit better and is still very affordable at 400 dollars. Update: they are not officially for sale anymore.
Is it the best virtual reality headset out there? No. Is it worth the money? For sure!
